A collection of award winning dark chocolate bars; all made by Canadian chocolate makers!

Desbarres Chocolate was the 2019 Winner of the International Rising Star Award at the Academy of Chocolate in London, UK. The bar we have included is their Ambanja, Madagascar 72%, a multi award winner, because it’s smooth creamy texture and notes of citrus and raspberry make us swoon.

Hummingbird Chocolate is a multi-award winning chocolate maker, winning 9 awards for this bar alone, including the Golden Bean in 2016, making it the best bar in the world in that year! We have a soft spot for the hispaniola 70% - it’s a customer favourite, it’s locally made and it’s fantastic on its own as well as when paired with port, red wines, scotch and cheese!

We are thrilled to add Qantu Chocolate to our collection of fabulous Canadian chocolate makers. Every one of their bars has received a Gold award from the Academy of Chocolate - not something many chocolate makers can say! We have changed the bar included in this collection to include Chuncho 70%. This bar was recently awarded the Golden Bean Award at the Academy of Chocolate's 2020. This is the most prestigious recognition a bar can receive!  Made with cocoa beans coming from tremendous wild trees over 60 years old in the region of Ayacucho, Peru. A delicate bar with a combination of floral and nutty flavour notes.

SOMA waited years to get their hands on cacao from Guasare! A place renowned for great beans but in a state of chaos and danger, these elusive beans finally became available to SOMA in 2018 and they produced this outstanding bar! Its blend of Guasare beans from 4 plantations with flavour notes of coffee, figs, malt and cream. In the first year of producing this bar, it was awarded 6 awards, including the International Chocolate Award World Gold, Best in Show Dark!
