A collection of award winning single origin dark chocolate bars made by Canadian chocolate makers!
Hummingbird Chocolate Makerhas won awards for all the bars they make! This Cap-Haïtien 70% bar most recent award in 2024 was a Silver at the International Chocolate Awards Americas, with a total of 12 international awards. The growers are based in north Haïti, more that 1500 farmers including 500 women, who are cultivating the best beans in Haiti. A bright raspberry fudge flavour profile with a hint of oolong tea.
Desbarres Chocolate is a multi-award winning chocolate maker who was just awarded a Bronze award in 2024 by the International Chocolate Awards - Americas for this bar. The Kilombero Tanzania bar is a 72% single origin bar with notes of brownie, tropical fruit and citrus. (Recently Desbarres increased the size of their bars and the changed the packaging so the bar included in this box is the same as described but bigger and with a new look from the Desbarres in the photo).
Every one of Qantubars has received a Gold award from the Academy of Chocolate - not something many chocolate makers can say! We have included Gran Blanco, Piura, Peru 70% in this collection. A multi award winner, this bar was awarded a Gold Award at the Academy of Chocolate in 2020. Using rare white cocao beans sourced in San Juan de Bigote, the bar has a unique pale colour and tasting notes of citrus, passion fruit and honey.
SOMA Chocolate Maker is known to be one of the first bean to bar makers in Canada, starting back in 2023 with the concept of new ways to create chocolate. They have since received well deserved accolades from all over the world for the quality and flavour of the cacao beans they chose to use to make their chocolate. Tièn Giang, Vietnam is the birthplace of cacao in Vietnam and the cacao beans provided for this 70% dark bar are from Marou Faiseur de Chocolat, who work directly with the farmers and are instrumental in resurrecting cacao farming in Vietnam. Tasting notes of cinnamon, wild ginger, cherry jam and Brazil nut. (please note this bar is different from the SOMA bar in the photo).
