Hi, I’m Joanne and together with my husband Jay, we opened JoJo CoCo in 2012. The idea was born from my long history in retail, a love of chocolate and timing. The idea was always in my head to open my own store so when I was approaching 50, I thought, if we're going to do this, it should be now.
Why chocolate? My retail background includes clothing, fashion and furniture, no food. But chocolate has been part of my life forever. Ever since childhood it was my favourite treat. I would get so excited when packages arrived from my granny in Scotland, because I knew there would be chocolate in them!
My appreciation for fine chocolate has changed over the years and while I still enjoy chocolate confections, my true love now is craft chocolate with simple ingredients. We have filled our shelves with a curated assortment of fine flavour bean to bar chocolate. When you visit our store we will happily tell you all about each one. Because behind every one of these bars has a story worth sharing. The chocolate maker and their approach, the origin and inherent flavours of the beans and how each bar came to be are the things we like to talk about.
